This Linux distribution (distro) is slowly becoming my favorite. Due to lock-screen issues with Zorin OS Lite and the desktop environment limitation of Linux Lite, this is my most preferred Linux distro, especially for playing with the different desktop environments (Up to 20 from its website). Many people chose their Linux distribution based on the desktop environment customized for it so having Sparky Linux is a big help to anyone who does Linux-hopping. As Linux is all about choices and preferences, this Linux distro might be one of the most customizable Linux distros around.
It is a unique distribution in the sense that it provides both Debian Stable and Debian Testing editions with the latest desktop packages. It comes with the following editions:
- LXQT
- Xfce
- KDE
- MinimalGUI
- MinimalCLI
I used the MinimalGUI edition as I wanted to play around with the different Linux desktop environments. Its default LXQT, Xfce, and KDE are pretty useful if the Linux desktop environment does not really matter to you. With it, I installed UKUI (Ubuntu Kylin User Interface) desktop.

You may try other desktop environments from the Sparky APTus application selection. One thing to note is that the auto-logon setting does not work so well when using UKUI. Is likely due to using two Windows managers but I have not resolved it. So sometimes you will get logout and have to login back in again.
You may check out my review of Sparky Linux 6.2 Xfce on my later post.
